Charles Stewart has been making music, entertaining audiences, and keeping crowds smiling for most of his life.
A Houston native, Charles began performing professionally as a child and co-founded his first band, Woodhead Green, at just fourteen years old. Since then, music has taken him from local stages to recording studios, publishing deals, songwriting collaborations, and thousands of live performances across Texas.
His songwriting work eventually led to a publishing deal with Sony Music.
After relocating to Dallas in the early 1980s, Charles continued building his career as a performer, songwriter, and bandleader. He formed bands including True Colors and Twist of Fate, the latter signing with Dragon Street Records. Along the way, he wrote commercial jingles, composed and performed music for Chuck E. Cheese, and continued developing as a songwriter and recording artist. Today, Charles continues to write, perform, and produce music while collaborating with acclaimed producer Andy Bradley. He performs both as a solo artist and with his band, Woodhead Green, bringing decades of experience, professionalism, and a genuine love of music to every audience.
Charles has worn many hats in the entertainment world.
In addition to performing as a musician, he spent several years as a wedding and event DJ, giving him a unique understanding of what makes an event flow smoothly and what keeps guests engaged. Whether he's performing for a wedding reception, cocktail hour, restaurant audience, corporate event, or private celebration, he approaches every performance with the same goal: creating an experience people genuinely enjoy.
One thing people notice about Charles almost immediately is his energy.
He's regularly mistaken for someone much, much younger, and once the music starts, it's easy to see why. Whether he's dancing around the room, taking requests, or keeping the crowd engaged between songs, Charles brings an enthusiasm to every performance that's hard to miss.
Beyond the music, he attributes his youthful vibe to over 5 years of veganism and 30 years of sobriety, but he never neglects to brings the party energy.
Charles believes great live music should feel personal.
When he's not performing, you'll usually find him writing music, telling stories, making people laugh, or doing all three at once.
For Charles, live music has never been about simply filling a room with sound. It's about creating moments, making connections, and helping people have a genuinely good time.
